SIMPLEX, HALF-DUPLEX AND FULL-DUPLEX
Simplex, Half-Duplex and Full-Duplex are types of
communication mode . it means transferring of data between Two devices . It is
also known as Transmission mode . There
are Three types of communication mode :-
Simplex Mode .Half-Duplex Mode .Full-Duplex Mode .
SIMPLEX :- In Simplex communication mode, there is a single way communication Transmission. Television Transmission is a good example of
simplex communication. The main Transmission unit send out a signal but it dose
not except any reply from the receiving unit. Keyboard, Mouse, Monitor are
example of simplex communication. Keyboard, Mouse, can only introduce input.
Monitor can only give the output.
HALF-DUPLEX :- In Half-Duplex mode, both unit communicated over the one medium. But only one unit
can send a time. Why one is in send mode, and other unit in received
mode. a good example of half-duplex communication is Walkie- talkie .
FULL-DUPLEX :- A Full-Duplex system is used that allow
information to flow simultaneously in both direction on the transmission path. Telephone
as an example of full-duplex communication, people at both ends of a call can
speak and be heard by each other at the same time . This involves a special
switching circuit that increase the efficiency of communication and requires a small amount time.
