COMPUTER VIRUS 

In this article i discussed about what is Computer Virus,  types of Computer Virus, Antivirus, types of Antivirus and many more.

Computer Virus :-

-> A computer virus is an actively malicious computer program that places copy of itself into other application and program. it also infects data ,files and documents. a computer and other device can affect by the computer virus in many ways. like Viruses can be spread through email and text message attachments, internet file download, social media scam link, malicious app download in mobile and smartphone, virus can hide in a attachments file (such as  funny images, greeting cards, or audio and video files) etc.

Effects of computer virus :-

1. A computer virus can destroy/delete or corrupting files.

2. interference with the display on the VDU. Display irritating message.

3. formatting the Hard disk and destroying data.

4. making good sectors as bad sectors.

5. slowing down the system.

6. drive light on without reason.

Types of Computer virus :-

1. File virus :- This common virus inserts malicious code into executable files . that can effect in OS files , program files, and user files etc.

2. Boot sector virus :- This type of virus can effects in boot sector of computer system. it is spread by plugging an infected USB drive into your computer.

3. Web Scripting Virus :- This type of virus exploits the complex code of web browsers and web pages . A Web Script Virus usually comes from web-pages advertisements . If you access such a web browsers or web page, the virus can infect your computer.

4. Browser Hijacker :- Browser hijacking is a structure of undesirable software that modifies a web browser's settings without a user's consent. A browser hijacker can replace the browser home page,  or search engine with its own. Some browser hijackers carry spyware, malware, different types of computer virus.

5. Resident Virus :- A resident virus is a type of computer virus that hide and stores itself within the computer memory. that can be infect the computer files and computer program. even attaching itself to anti-virus applications which allows it to infect any file scanned by the program.

6. Direct Action Virus :-  This type of virus comes into action when you execute a file containing a virus. Otherwise, it remains dormant.

7. Polymorphic Virus :- A polymorphic virus changes its code each time an infected file is executed. It does this to evade antivirus programs.

8. Multipartite Virus :- This kind of virus spread out in multiple ways in computer system. It can corrupt both program files and system sectors.

9. Macro Virus :-  Macro viruses are used for software applications used to written in the same macro language. Such viruses spread when you open an infected document, files, often through email attachments(such as  funny images, greeting cards, or audio and video files). It can infect user privacy, computer files, program files etc.

Antivirus :-

-> Antivirus software is a type of program designed and developed to protect computers from virus attack like malware, keyloggers, browser hijackers, Trojan horses, worms, rootkits, spyware, adware, botnets ransomware etc. it also known as anti-malware.

   Antivirus software designed to detect, scan, and remove the virus from your computer system. it can also protect against a wide variety of threats, malicious software such as malicious browser hijackers, spyware, ransomware, keyloggers, rootkits, trojan, adware etc. also infected and malicious URLs, spam,and phishing attacks, online privacy, online banking attacks etc.

What Does antivirus Software Do ?

• Scan specific files or folder for any malware or malicious computer program .
• Allow you to a scan of a particular file or your entire computer, or of a CD or removable drive, flash drive at any time.
•  Any time detect malicious code and remove the file from the computer system ,  sometimes asked  you if want to clean the file ,
•  It also Show you the ‘performance’ of your computer. Etc.
